This year, we unfortunately cannot sing and dance together in the synagogue for Simchat Torah. But we will not let Corona completely eliminate our holiday celebration. Our Sages teach “One cannot truly enjoy a Simcha without Meat and Wine”.
Therefore, TAIS is initiating a project to provide hot, catered Yom Tov meals to our community members citywide! TAIS is setting up distribution centers for both highly subsidized meals a well as free holiday meals for those in need thanks to generosity of the Friedler Family!
The subsidized upgraded meals being offered for 50 shekels have SOLD OUT!
The regular price is 80 shekels for TAIS Members 5781 and 100 shekels for non-members.
The menu for the Upgraded Meal includes: Continue reading
The lockdown is continuing as the numbers keep on rising. The rules are as follows:
1. The synagogue is closed. Those who wish to daven in the garden may do so provided that they live less than 1 km from TAIS limited to a maximum of 20. Rabbi Ariel and family will be staying home and staying safe and we encourage everyone to do the same. The gabbai’s will be on premises during the normally scheduled services time as listed below.
2. TAIS has built two small sukkahs in the garden that are open to the public so that everyone can fulfill their mitzvah of “Leyshev BaSukkah” (sitting in the sukkah). Only one family living in the same household may use each Sukkah at a time. The Sukkah is available on a First Come, First Serve Basis but PLEASE be considerate of others and keep your time there short. Also, please bring your own table cloth and clean off and wipe down the tables and chairs upon leaving.
